Catocyanic Complex

A CLINICALLY PROVEN ACTION ON THE EYE

Catocyanic complex is the active ingredient of many drug products.
Difrarel has been extensively studied with proven action on:

• Retinopathies
• Capillary permeability
• Regeneration of the rhodospine and retinal purpura
• Myopia
• Night Vision

ACTION ON RETINOPHATIES

Eye disease is common in diabetes, and one complication is diabetic retinophaty. Non proliferative retinophaty
can include venous abnormalities, microaneurism, rethinal hemorrages, retinal oedemas and exudates.
In a clinical study (1) 31 patients with various types of retinopathy were investigated with regard
to the effect of anthocyanosides on the retinal vessels. A beneficial effect on the permeability was observed,
particularly in patients with diabetic retinophaty.
Another study (2), where 266 patients with diabetic retinophaty were treated with 400 mg/day for 1 year,
showed a positive effect on retinophaty, in particular when treatment started at an early stage of the disease.

WHAT IS CATOCYANIC COMPLEX

Catocyanic Complex is an active polymerised fraction extracted from bilberry
composed of aglycon cyanidins, delphinidine, malvidine and Peonidine.

EXTRACTION PROCESS

Thanks to a natural friendly fermentation process (No added SO2) the nutritive and
active properties of the compound are preserved. Accurate chemicals, physical and
microbiological tests are performed in house according to pharmacopeias and cGMP.
Our unique extraction process allows the genins to polymerise together, cutting
out the molecule of sugar. For this reason, the final compound is paticularly suitable
for diabetic needs.
